PREVIEW OF GATSBY ESSAY
Gatsby's desire for success throughout the entire story is clear evidence of an obsession he has with the American dream. He wanted to be rich, he wanted the perfect wife, the perfect family etc. This was all a dream he had but it quickly turned in an obsession. You could tell it turned into an obsession when he went through great lengths to achieve this unrealistic American dream. All the actions he took was all for the purpose of a women who didn't really care for him. Even though Gatsby really thought they were soulmates. It may seem as if Gatsby is an outlier but in reality his dream is not that different from people's dreams today. His was just really exaggerated. At some point in our life we kind of relate to Gatsby in a way.

CUE THEME MUSIC
I think that the central message of The Great Gatsby was that no matter how much you pursue something it doesn't end up happening the way you wanted. It could simply be a possibility of what can happen. Here are some reasons why I think that's the central message.
- Gatsby was trying to get Daisy to notice him
- Gatsby tried to have a life with Daisy
- George, Myrtles's husband, pursued revenge on Gatsby for "killing" Myrtle and succeeded

I GET BY WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS
There are 36 students in my AP Language and Composition class, and usually we don't all get to talk at once. Today we got to talk about different things that weren't necessarily school related and we got to hear what everybody else was thinking. A couple highlights, notes, or even memories from today's conversation were when Diana was talking about her big question and I also liked how she was building different structures to see which structure would be the best to handle an earthquake. Another highlight would be when, I believe it was Cece, who brought up how TikTok affects or influences us and then this whole conversation started about how TikTok influences kids and and then the subject moved on with the topic of kids, abortions, foster families etc. Another highlight within the conversation we had as a class would be how the discussion of school was brought up. From stress, anxiety, and other problems that deal with school. It ranged from how school work pressures you, teachers pressuring you and many more. Overall it was good but at the beginning it was really quite but as the conversation went on there was more talking and sharing.
